FALL DOWN STAIRS

WATCHMAN INJURED. AUCKLAND, This Day. After having fallen down a flight of stairs at Hellaby’s Meat Works at Westfield at four o’clock this morning, the nightwatchman, Birkett Germann (48), of Onehunga, despite a fractured, right thigh, crawled to the next floor and broke a window with a torch. The engineer who was on duty heardthe noise and summoned the St. John Ambulance and Dr. Griffen of Otaliuhu. The injured man was taken to the hospital and an X-ray is being made. —(P.A.)
