BUILDINGS WRECKED
TYPHOON IN OHINA OVER ONE HUNDRED DEAD, Cress Association Rloctric Telesraph—Copyright HONG-KONG, Monday. A typhoon wrecked buildings in the city and devastated surrounding villages. Over 100 are believed to be dead. The steamer Sunning, carrying British officers and 40 Chinese passengers and crew, went ashore. The military garrison is making an effort to establish contact by means- of a land line, and to effect rescues. Police launches are battling with a wild sea to reach the vessel. PASSENGERS AND CREW SAFE. (Received Tuesdav, 9.15 a.m.) HONGKONG, Monday. The Sunning’s passengers and crew have been rescued.
