MASTERTON CLUB. SATURDAY’S RACE. (By “Sprocket.”) The Masterton Cycling Club held a 16-milc race from Kuripuni Triangle to the Taratahi Hotel and back on Saturday. The results were as follow: — E. Condon (2fmin.) 1 E. Sayer (scr.) 2 G. Dykes (lUnin.) 3 Fastest time: E. Sayer, 42min. 4sec. * * * * E. Condon deserved his win and showed stamina in holding off a strong challenge from E. Sayer at the finish. w * * «r E. Sayer showed by his race on Saturday that he has lost none of the dash which has won races for him in past seasons. * * * * Of the rest, C. Dykes narrowly beat T. Sayer for third place, and C. Osborne retired, through lack of training, on the return journey. * * * * It is disheartening to club officials that there are only the regular few riders turning out from Saturday to Saturday, but nevertheless, they intend racing off the trophies in the club’s possession, regardless of the number of starters. * * * * Next week the race will be to the Black Bridge and back, starting at the Kuripuni Triangle at 2.30 p.m. # » • * Commencing next- Saturday, a trophy will be presented for the most regular attender.
