ANNUAL REPORT. A record production of butter for the Wairarapa is disclosed in the annual report of the directors of the Masterton Co-operative Dairy Company, to be presented at the annual meeting in the A. and P. Rooms, on 28tli August. The report reads: — “Your directors have pleasure in presenting to you the thirty-fourth annual statement of accounts and balance sheet for the year ended 30th June, 193 G. Wo are pleased to be able to report an increase of 225.05 tons on the manufacture.of the previous year. This increase is* no doubt due partly to the better weather conditions prevailing during the past season, but also to the extra support we are receiving from the dairy farmers of the district. Our total make for the season was 1182.815 tons —a record production for our company and the Wairarapa. “We distributed amongst our suppliers up to 30th June, 193 G, £97,243 17s Bd, as against £67,383 4s lid for the previous season; also there has been paid out in July, a further payment covering November, Id; December, Jd; February, March and April, Id; which absorbed £4190. The Appropriation Account shows: a credit balance of £13,682 12s 4d,, and your directors have authorised a further payment of lid from July to May inclusive with the exception of September, on which will be paid' Id per lb. butterfat. The directors also recommend payment of 5 per cent, on paid-up capital. “Cream grading was as follows: — Finest, 88.343 per cent.; first, 11.269 per cent.; second, 0.388 per cent.; butter: finest, 90.9 per cent.; first, 9.1 per cent. It is satisfactory to note that our grading by the Department for export butter was excellent —Masterton brand grading up to 951 points, whilst the average points attained for Masterton and Lansdowne was 94.17. “Our local trade has been well maintained. Your directors take this opportunity of wishing our suppliers prosperity in the new season.

“The directors also wish to thank the staff and cream carriers for their services to the company. The retiring directors—Messrs W. 11. Buick, T. R. Eaton and A. C. Gawith —being eligible, offer themselves for re-election. Mr G. W. Sellar, F.1.A.N.Z., F.1.C.A., the retiring auditor, offers himself for re-election. ’ ’
