SPORTING ARRANGEMENTS.
(The Editor.) Sir, —Would it be possible for some arrangement to be made betii'een sporting bodies, so that major fixtures in Masterton do not clash? This is especially important Avhen representatives of distant tOAvns are. engaged in friendly contest. Very often the officials are interested jn more than one sport, and certainly the patronage of the publie has to be divided. If some means of making the dates of important fixtures knoAvn to kindred societies Avere devised, I think the natural courtesy and sportsmanlike instincts of those bodies Avould do the rest. Pending some better arrangement, I Ai’ould suggest that any club or institution having a major fixture pending, should circularj.se all potential claimants for the date. If this Avere done Avell before the proposed function, it Avould prove mutually beneficial to all concerned.—l 3. 11l etc. ■* LOCAL SPjkTSMAN. Masterton, 17th August^936.
