ACCIDENT TO CAR
PASSENGER TAKEN TO HOSPITAL. A man received injuries tliat necessitated his removal to hospital and the driver and another passenger had fortunate escapes from injury when a motor car, driven by Mrs C. H. Va.llanc'e, of Ngataliuna, got out of control on the Fernyhurst Hill yesterday afternoon and finally crashed into the side of a bank. The accident occurred at about 4 pan. when Mrs. . Vallance was coming away from the Wainuioru golf links. As the car was proceeding down the Fernyhurst Hill the accelerator jammed and the car became uncontrollable. It careered down the road for a distance, gathering speed and crashed into the left-hand bank. The force of the impact turned the car over on its side. Mr D. W. Hingson, who occupied the back seat, received injuries necessitating his removal to Masterton hospital. Mrs Vallance, and another passenger in the front seat, escaped injury. The car was not very badly damaged. The injured man was taken to Dr. J. A. Cowie and later admitted to the hospital. His condition is reported to be satisfactory.
