Their Excellencies LoldVnd Lady Galway returned to Welling&pn to-day from the south.

At a meeting of the directors of the Mauriceville Dairy Company Mr Lemberg was re-elected chairman and Mr H. Myers deputy-chairman. Residing at Eketaliuna, Mr J. Urwin, late of Hastings, has commenced his duties as testing officer with the Bush Herd Testing Association. A cablegram from Rarotonga reports that the death occurred at the island of Aitutaki on .Wednesday of Mrs ■Ellen Winifred Luckham, wife of Captain Albert Arthur Luckliain, Resident Agent at Aitutaki, aged 52.

Smith took place at the Clareville Cemetery on Thursday, there being a large attendance of mourners, including members of Loyal Heart of Oak Lodge. A short service was held at the residence by the Rev. H. White, Methodist minister, who afterwards conducted the service at the graveside. The Oddfellows’ burial service was read by Bro. C. J. DeLaeey, and the pallbearers were Bros. E. Eagle, J. Stevens, V. J. Ashton, J. McAllister, C. J. DeLaeey and Mr Scott. Many beautiful floral tributes were received.

At yesterday’s meeting of tho Mauriceville Dairy Company, chairman, Mr V. K. Lemberg, Mr L. Neilsen, a retiring director, with a fountain pen in recognition of his valuable services to the company over a period of 16 years. Mr Lemberg said Mr Neilsen was one of the original suppliers to the factory when it was first established at Mauriceville West 47 years ago. As a director for the past 16 years, he had at all times worked in the interests of the company and the suppliers. It was decided to place on record appreciation of Mr Neilsen’s services.

A quiet wedding took place at the residence of Mr E. L. Holmwood, late of Masterton, at Hukerenui on Ist August, the contracting parties being Miss. Constance Bacon, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Gainsford Bacon, of Blenheim, and Mr Jack Holimvood, only son of Mr and Mrs E. L. Holmwood. The Rev. A. Drake, Vicar of Hikurangi, officiated. The wedding took place in the presence of members of the bridegroom’s LMuly. The bride, who wore a hrjrn ensemble with accessories to tope, and’ carried a dainty posy, was attended by Miss Moore. Mr A. Rolfe-Smith acted as ' best man. A feature of the wedding breakfast was a beautiful wedding cake made by the bride’s mother. Later in the afternoon, Mr and Mrs Jack Holmwood left by car for the North.'

To arrive at the age of 95 years looking the picture of health and well able to read, write,, sew and knit, was the great good fortune of Mrs M. Coulter, of Ileretaunga Street, Palmerston North, on Monday last. Born in County Antrim, Ireland, Mrs Coulter left the land of her birth when 19 years of age, accompanying her brother on the sailing ship Royal Standard. While her brother came on to New Zealand, Mrs Coulter, who was then unmarried, remained in Melbourne for a time, but a year or two later crossed the Tasman. For brief periods she lived at Ashburton and Christchurch, but for the last half-century she has made Palmerston North her home. Her husband passed away some 30 years ago. Mrs Coulter has four children D. Coulter, of Palmerston North; W. R. Coulter,. of Woodville; Mrs H. Henderson, of Wanganui; and Mrs W. Fabling, of Ileretaunga Street, with whom she is now living. Mrs Coulter is still able to get about freely and attends services at the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She has eighteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
