MAURICEVILLE NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent)
Successful Function. The Catholic dance in the hall on Saturday evening proved one of the gayest and most successful for some time, when nearly 200 dancers attended. Novelty, confetti and balloon dances and coloured paper hats added to the carnival effect, and reflects great credit on the organisation of Miss E. Milner and Mrs Milner, who were assisted by a capable committee. The winners of the novelty events were as follows: —Spot dance, Miss U. Rollo and 1 G. Neicli; Monte Carlo, Miss Rollo and D. McKay; surprise foxtrots, Miss M. Kenny and Green, and Miss J. Elliott and A. MacDonald, jumbo, Miss P. Mortensen; picture, Miss M. Diggins. During the evening, extras were played by Miss L. Savage and Mr J. Peters, and the music was supplied by the Rhythm Boys’ orchestra. The duties of M.C. were efficiently carried out by Mr J. Mac Lean. * * * * Personal.
