, WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION. SENIOR COMPETITION. A further series of games in the Wairarapa Hockey Association’s championship fixtures were played on Saturday. On the Lansdowne grounds, Stags avenged their first round defeat by Greytown by the narrow margin of 2/1. Kiwi beat Stars by 5/3. At Carterton the home team defeated Valley by 13/2. The Dalefield team beat Wesley, 7/0. The positions of the teams in the championship ladder are as follows:

SENIOR LADIES. SOUTH WIN BOTH GRADES. Playing at Greytown, the South A representatives proved too good for North A, whom they defeated by 6/1. The B grade game was also played at Greytown, and after a very evenly contested game, South Avon 2/1.

JUNIOR TRIALS. The junior trials resulted: —A beat B, 2/1; C beat D, 3/0. After the games the selector, Mr W. Harding, announced the following players to train for the representative match against Wellington next month: —E. Rutherford (Old Girls), M. Brown (Greytown), V. Watson (Old Girls), J. Hutton (Excelsior), R. Harding (Excelsior), M. Rutherford (Excelsior),_ E. Peterson (Greytown), J. Wilton (High School), A. Beech (Old Girls), N. Page (Excelsior), P. Tully (Greytown), E. Barnes (Excelsior), M. Rhodes (Greytown), J. Harding (Excelsior), M. Henderson (Excelsior), D. Le Forte (Old Girls). The competition run by the senior Old Girls’ team was won by Mr Power, Albert Street.
