CLAY BIRD SHOOTING
MASTERTON CLUB. The Masterton Gun Club fired the first 18-bird sweepstake on Saturday afternoon, with twelve members taking part. A cold southerly breeze made the conditions rather unpleasant, but the shooting was of a very high order. The shooting of J. Udy and C. E. Grey was the best seen on the ground for many years, both getting the possible. , In a shoot-off for a special prize,_ Mr Udy won after breaking 5 extra birds. Results are as follows:
The North Island championships for both clays and sparrows will take place next Fridav and Saturday, when several members of the Masterton Club will take part.
