The attendance throughout the year was well maintained. Three of these meetings were held at the Parsonage. We appreciate the kindly thought of our president, Mrs G. F. Stoekwell in placing such a cheerful room at our disposal. The aims of our guild are social, educational and financial In furtherance of the first three very successful socials were arranged during the year. Eductaionally we depend on special speakers for the afternoon. Mrs Conly gave a talk on ‘Purcell,’ tho English composer, illustrating it with several songs. Mr Stoekwell spoke on ‘Collections and Recollections,’ giving us many interesting and amusing incidents in his ministerial career. Miss Jackson told us of her recent interesting visit to New South Wales and Queensland. In a delightful afternoon talk, Mrs H. T. Wood showed us the art of floral work. We hope the members will benefit from the demonstration both in their homes and in future competitions. Wo are indebted to all these speakers for their valuable help. Our financial efforts for the past year were very encouraging. The annual effort took the form of a Pyramid Card Scheme, and the sum of £76/14/3 was Taised by this system. In March last a most successful Garden Party was held. We are indebted to Mr and Mrs W. Nicol, Chapel Street, for the use of their beautiful grounds for this function. In addition to money spent on tho upkeep of the Parsonage, the sum of £BO was voted to the Trust Fund of the church. Each year brings changes in our membership; and to those who have suffered bereavement we extend our deepest sympathy. To our minister, the Rev. G. F. Our thanks are extended to the ladies who have acted as hostesses during the year. Their hospitality has done much to ensure the success of the meetings. Our best wishes go with those members who have left the town, and we welcome all new members who have joined up with us during the year. We are indebted to tho local Press for regularly reporting our meetings. In conclusion thanks are due to all who have helped to make the guild successful during the year 39341935. —TSgd.3 J. A.
