WOMAN RIDER’S FEAT
AT SYDNEY SHOW. SYDNEY, Friday. A feature of the Royal Show yesterda\r was the wonderful achievement of the New Zealander, Miss Vera MacMillan, in winning the water jump, as it was the first time in the history of the show that a woman has won an event of this nature.
It is recalled that Miss MacMillan was seriously injured at the 1925 show when she crashed at one of the hurdles and fractured her spine. She iay prostrate in hospital for nearly a year. Miss MacMillan rode her own gelding, Flying Scout, and registered a jump of 28ft. 9in.
