CARTERTON SALE. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report;—We held our weekly sale at Carterton on Thursday. Owing to the Easter holidays we had to hold the sale on Thursday this week. A big yarding of pigs came forward, but prices were very low and bidding slack. Several pens of weaners and porkers were passed in. Cattle sold at last week’s rate, and the few sheep offered made good values. The following were the prices:—Sheep: Fat lambs, to 20s; w.f. lambs, 8s 3d to 14s. Cattle: Springing cows, £3, £3 5S', £3 10s, £3 12s 6d, £3 15s to £4; later calvers, 355, £2, £2 5s to £2 17s 6d; fat cows, £2 15s to £3 10s; forward ewes, 32s 6d to £2 ss; store cows, 15s to 245; heavy Jersey bulls, to £3 12s 6d; springing heifers, £2 15s to £3 2s 6d; forward conditioned heifers, to £2 ss. Pigs: Weaners (small), 3s 6d to ss; weaners, 6s 6d, 7s, 7s 6d to 8s; slips, 14s 6d, 16s 6d to 17s; porkers, to 20s. EKETAHUNA SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having had a small yarding of stock at the Eketahuna sale on Thursday. There was the usual attendance of buyers, but competition was not very keen, and several lots faling to reach ven-
