ANZAC DAY

SERVICE IN MASTERTON.

The twentieth anniversary of New Zealand’s day of national remembrance, of the sacrifices made in the Great War of 1914-18 will bo observed on Anzac Day, Thursday next. In. Masterton a public memorial service is to be held in the Park at 11 a.m.,' at which the Deputy-Mayor (Mr W. L. Free) will preside. Appropriate music for the service will bo supplied by the Municipal Band. Ex-Service men are to assemble at the Hostel, Essex Street, promptly at 10.30 a.m. for a march to the Park, and after the service will march back to the hostel, to be entertained at morning tea by the ladies of the wartime Liverpool and Gross committee. Should the wea®3r le unfavourable, the service will Wo JWd in tho Municipal Hall at the sa.nm hour. A record parade of ex-Ser-vice men is anticipated, and it is desired to see a representative gathering of all ranks and units of the vast Empire armies, to pay homage to those who did not come back. Disabled soldiers or aged veterans unable to march are requested to join the parade at the Park. Seating accommodation is reserved for army nurses and disabled soldiers and veterans and application should be made at the Park to Mr F. Norris.
