RACEHORSE MISSING

STABLE DOOR FORCED. AUCKLAND, Friday. Removed from stables in Campbell Road, One Tree Hill, on Thursday night, the racehorse Prince Colossus, which ■was entered to be run at the Auckland Racing Club’s Easter meeting at Ellerslie to-morrow, had not been traced by the police at a late hour to-night. Prince Colossus had . been stabled horses on Thursday evening. When it was proposed to carry out track work yesterday morning, those interested in the horse were surprised to find the stable empty. According to the complaint received by the police, the padlock on the stable door had been forced. There were no signs of an attempt to interfere with any other horse. . People in the vicinity of the stables had not heard anything untoward during Thursday night. The police were of the opinion that that hour of the removal of Prince. Colossus had been carefully chosen, and that the animal had been removed to some very distant place. Prince Colossus is recognised as a good performer, and as a likely candidate for the President’s Handicap. mfL'- A five-year-old, Prince Colossus has M.een entered for the President’s Handicap by Mr A. Cameron, of Hamilton. He has been trained by Mr T. M. Morris, of Cambridge.—(P.A.)
