CAR GOES OVER BANK.

GISBORNE, Sunday,

On Saturday a Tiniroto service-car left the road and fell over a 100 feet after coming into collision with a passing truck on a slippery road.

Two of the five passengers were injured and wore brought to hospital in Gisborne. Mrs R. E. Barton (Ruakituri) suffered a badly crushed leg, and Raki Mauku head injuries. An ambulance travelled 140 miles ■through a storm in torrential rain, taking a circuitous route via Wairoa to avoid the main road, which was rendered impassable by the rain, and traversed flooded roads over a hill route. “(P.A.)
