MEETING AT OPAKI. Mrs Wingate presided over a fair attendance of members of the • Opaki Women’s Institute. The competition for meringues was won by Miss M. Kollo, Mrs V. Buiek being second. . Another word competition was Avon by Mrs Ramsey, Mrs Wingate demonstrated lioav pretty and offecthm floor rugs can be made from discarded Avoollen materials and stockings. The Avinners Avitli the most marks for the competitions for the year were Mrs Ramsey first, Miss Rollo second, and Miss Y. Buick third. Each received a pretty little memento. KOPUARANGA MEETING. A meeting of the Kopuaranga Women’s Institute Avas held in the hall on Thursday. Mrs A. B. Cottle presided OA'er a good attendance. Visitors Avere present from the IlastAvell Institute. Mrs Wilton, Makuri, gave a demonstration on papier macho doll making, Avhich Avas greatly appreciated, and a hearty A’ote of thanks Avas passed to Mrs Wilton.
A competition, “something iicav from something old,” Avas won by Miss A. McKenzie, senior class; and Miss L. Freeman, junior class. The hostesses Avere Mesdames A. Donald, E. J .Wright and C. P. Jarrett.
