One of the queerest club houses in Britain is that of the Lytham St. Anne’s Boat Club. Their headquarters is Lytham Windmill. This windmill, over 800 years old, stands on the green at Lytham (Lane.). The sails still go round, but only for show. Inside, where the mill-stones used to be, a cosy little club has been fitted up. A carpeted' staircase has taken the place of the shaft that connected the sails with the machinery below. And where the miller used to diseuss crops and prices with the farmers, the officials of the Motor Boat Club talk about the craft—doubtless in the haze of tobacco smoke. In such a club in New Zealand the tobacco would probably bfe either Blue Shield (Medium) or Bed Shield (Dark), the delightful New Zealand tobaccos that are toasted to a turn.
