HIGH SCHOOL

MEETING OF PARENTS. A meeting of parents was held at School House to complete arrangements in connection with the Wairarapa High School Fail - , which is to be held in the High School grounds on Saturday afternoon, lGth March. Mr M. G. Macltay was in the chair, and Mr H. B. Tomlinson, principal of the school, was present, and took a very active interest in the proceedings. Th following were allocated the various stalls and side-sliows, and parents or guardians of children attending the school and others who are willing to contribute arc asked to get into touch with the various stall-holders regarding any donations they desire to make towards the fair: —Afternoon tea, Mesdames Mac Kay, Thomas, Devonport, Miss Sumpter; .cake stall, Mesdames Dawson, Daniell, liaise; sweets and drinks, Mesdames C. A. Burling, L. Nicol; ice cream, Mesdames Wyborn and Judd; fruit salad, Mesdames McPherson, Shearer, Moriee; produce, Mr Dixon, Miss Wright. Entertainments: Folk dancing, physical drill, etc., by school pupils, the Principal; pony rides, Messrs Spiers and Stewart; clock golf, Mr S. A. La Roche; shooting at butts, Mr J. H. Conly; electric bucket, Mr G. W. Moriee; knock-down, Messrs Mac Kay, J. V. Dolan and L. J. Mark; nail driving, Mr M. Sanson; dart board, Mr L. Coleman; single wicket, Mr H. H. Daniell; croquet game, Mrs H. T. Wood; baby show, Mrs R. C. Drummond; lamb guessing, Mr F. C. Stowell. The Old Boys’ Association has arranged to run a tennis tournament on the school courts during the afternoon. Messrs A. 0. Jones and E. R. Rogers are honorary treasurers, and Mr A. W. Charleson is the honorary secretary.
