MURDER CHARGE

ALTERCATION IN VILLAGE. SAMOAN WOMAN’S DEATH. APIA, Friday. A Samoan woman, aged about 50,. named Tailesa, of Mutiatelc Aleipata, Upolu, while passing through the village of Lealatele Lepa, became involved in an altercation with a small Samoan boy, and it is alleged that another Samoan woman intervened, Tailesa receiving a ; wound .in the neck from a small fish spear. She was cared for at Lealatele, and left there for home next morning, but was not seen again until found in the bush about half a mile from the village of Sgleapaga on Bth February. Tailesa, it is stated, was in the habit of wandering into the bush for long periods by herself. She'was admitted to the Aleipata Hospital on 10th February, and died there the following day from the result of septic wound in the neck.

On 14th February the police arrested a woman named Amio, of Lepa, who was charged in the High Court with murder. The case was remanded for hearing before Judge Luxford on 4th March.
