DAIRY INDUSTRY
AUSTRALIAN PLANS.
• ONE CONTROLLING BODY. SYDNEY, Tuesday. The "Sun” says that proposals for the reorganisation of the dairy industry will bo placed before the Australian Agricultural Council next month, if arrangements can be completed to call that body together before Parliament meets.
Two main suggestions will be submitted by Dr. Earle Page, Minister of Commerce. One is the amalgamation of existing dairy industry organisations into one central body, and the other is the imposition of excise duty or production tax on margarine in order to encourage local consumption of butter.
