NEW ZEALAND BUTTER
ALLEGED SMUGGLING. INTO UNITED STATES. NEW YORK, Saturday. A message from Bellingham, Washington, states that a report that New Zealand butter is being smuggled into Whatcom County is being investigated by United States Customs authorities. A' cargo of New* Zealand butter reached Vancouver (British Columbia) recently, and,was awaiting entry to Washington. . Entry was refused by Dr. Robert Prior, State Director of Livestock and Dairies, unless the butter Was accompanied by certificates showing it came from dairies complying with;the equivalent of W ashington sanitary ; requirements. He was told it would be impossible to trace the product to its sources. 1
