HOLIDAYS BY RAIL
END-OF-TERM TRIPS. In the middle of August, when pupils of schools and colleges will be again having the holidays which should set them up in strength for the hardest term of the year, the railways will be ready for big business. The first magic touches of spring will be then putting bright splashes of colour on landscapes, and early lambs will bo frisking in the green fields. With fares of less than a penny a mile (second class) and a fraction over a penny (first class), it will be a good opportunity for parents and other relatives to enjoy changes of scene and air with the merry young folk, whose buoyancy of spirits banishes gloom. Special concessions are available far families and parties.
