ARNOLD BENNETT’S WILL

WIDOW’S CLAIM. JUDGMENT BY COURT. (Received Saturday, 12.35 p.m.) LONDON, Friday. Arnold Bennett’s AvidoAV estimated his gifts to Miss Bennett, formerly Miss Clieston, Avere securities \ r alued at £790(1, copyrights £4220, and manuscripts £7500. She said she did not Avish to disturb the settlement Avliereby Bennett’s child benefited. Justice Clauson dismissed the child settlement part of the action and added in the course, of his judgment that the testator clearly contemplated that, though Miss Bennett Avas to be the OAvner of the copyright in certain of his plays and manuscripts, the income from them Avould remain his during his lifetime. The Avidow’s claim to stocks and securities, given to Miss Bennett, Avould be dismissed, but the copyright in testator’s journal and manuscripts are treated as part of the estate. Miss Bennett'pays three-fifths of the widow’s costs.
