MISS BATTEN’S TOUR

NORTH ISLAND ITINERARY. Miss Jean Batten arrived in Wellington to-day after her South Island tour. The tour has been a highly successful one, and she was enthusiastically received at every centre she visited. The details of her tour of the North Island ahve been arranged between Miss Batten, the J. C. Williamson Picture Corporation, and the Department of Internal Affairs. It will commence at Wanganui on Saturday, and Miss Batten will remain there until Tuesday morning, when she will fly to Palmerston North. . On the following morning she is to leave for New Plymouth. Hawera is to bo visited on Friday, 27th July, and on the morning of Saturday, 28tli July, she will leave for Auckland, where she will remain until 31st July. On Ist August Miss Batten is to leave for Hamilton, where she will remain until she goes to Hastings on 3rd August She is to leave Hastings on 6th August for Gisborne, via Taupo, and will proceed to Napier on Bth August. 10th August will be spent at Dannevirke. On the morning of 11th August she will fly on to Masterton, to complete her tour. Miss Batten is to leave Masterton on 12th August for Rotorua to commence a well-earned holiday. Throughout her tour, Miss Batten s Moth will be accompanied by a Government aeroplane. Four machines from the Western Federated Aero Club will meet her at Wanganui and escort her through the Taranaki part of her it inerarv.
