MILK AND CREAM
PRICES IN AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, Friday. Tentative prices, wholesale and retail, for milk were fixed at a meeting of the Auckland Milk Council as follow: Retail price: 5d a quart for loose milk, s}d for bottled. Price to producers: 9d gallon for contract milk, the price to cover collection, treatment, storage, distribution and delivery, 2jd a gallon. Price to be paid by vendors to wholesalers for resale, lljd. Retail price of cream: 40z., sd; Boz., 9d; 160 z., Is 4d.
Wholesale price of cream to vendors: 7s 4d a gallon. Price of cream to shops and shipping for five gallons and over, 7s a gallon. Under five gallons, Bs. The scale of wholesale prices other than to vendors, and including shipping, was fixed for both milk and cream according to the Act.—(P.A.)
