OBITUARY

MR ALEX. McLAUCHLAN. The death occurred suddenly last, night, at his residence, Te Ore Ore, of Mr Alexander McLauchlan. Deceased was born at Oust. South Island, <2 years ago. He had resided in the "Wairarapa and Te Ore Ore since 1902, having followed farming and contracting pursuits. He was a staunch adherent of the Lansdowne Presbyterian Church. The late Mr McLauchlan had many sterlih gqualities which commanded the respect of a large number of friends. Deceased had been in indifferent health for some time. Nevertheless his death, which occurred while lie was sitting reading the paper last night, came as a‘great shock to his family. Deceased is survived by a widfWJ one son (Mr James McLauchlan) and one daughter (Mrs E. H. Simpson, Te Ore Ore), and 7 grandchildren, who will have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends/in their sad bereavement. Mr C. C. McLauchlan is a nephew. The funeral will take plaice to-mor-row and will leave the residence, Te Ore Ore, at 4 p.m. for the Masteiton Cemetery.
