MASTERTON CLUB. ANNUAL REPORT. The following is the annual report of the Masterton Tennis Club, to be presented at the annual general meeting of members to be held in the Fanners’ Room, Perry Street, on Thursday, 19tli October, 1933; — The committee has pleasure in P re " senting the report and statements ot accounts for the season 1932-33. The club membership stands fit 121, being made up as follows:—Nipetytliree playing (6 adults, 29 junioijß and 28 non-playing members,. 19 imiying member# joined (8 adults, 11 -1 11 mors), and 28 resigned during the year under review. , 'y The committee again granted tli»j Wairarapa Lawn Tennis Association the use of the courts for the Association’s annual tournament, for yyliich privilege the club received the suhi of £27. The Association was also granted the use of the courts for the first V airarapa secondary schools’ tournament. Thanks are again extended to the lady members of the club'for providing afternoon teas during the whole of the sGcisoiij which were most cipprocicitcd. The club’s teams were unsuccessful in the Association inter-club competitions, and congratulates the various winners on their successes. The following members attained rerepresentative honours in the Association teams against Wellington, Manawatu, Wanganui and Hawke’s Bay’ 1 Associations:-* —Mrs 11. M. A. Major, Misses N. Fleming and M. C. Ross, Messrs E. M. Hodder, H. M. A. Major. The ladies’ committee (Meajwnes J. 'C. Forsyth, E. M. Hodder, N. Irwin, W. A. Michael, and Miss T. istrouts) again arranged many successful competitions for lady members throughout the year. The committee* record with deep regret the death of Mr W. D. Horne. The thanks of members are due to Mr Arthur D. Low for auditing the accounts during the period under review, and to the Wairarapa Lawn Tennis Association for the privilege of controlling the exhibition matches played by Messrs E. D. Andrews (England), J. N. Lowry (Hawke's Bay), Ivan Seay (Canterbury), and N. B. C. Wilson (Wellington). The courts will be officially opened on Saturday, th November, 1933. —For the committee, 11. M.
