CASPIAN TO BASRA
THOUSAND-MILE RAILWAY. LONDON, Thursday. An Instanbul message states that a Swedish group has secured a contract to construct a thousand-mile railway across Persia from the Caspian Sea to the Gulf of Basra (head of the Persian Gulf. The line will take five years to build.
