SFEEDING-UP PROCESS. WAIMATE, This Day. _ The visit of the Minister of 'Public Works (Mr J. Bitchener) to the Waitaki hydro-electric works yesterday was largely concerned) in -arranging additional accommodation for a further -one hundred men, who were needed to speed up the work of the Otago coffer dam, which important work is being pushed ahead at the present time in order to complete it to a certain stage so as to remove all fears of possible flood damage. With a total of 900 men at work, it is hoped to reach this stage- -by December.
