He started in business in Masterton in NoA r ember, 1931. He did a fair business, working it up from nothing AAntli the plant to be paid for. Some of his old creditors were not satisfied Avitli his efforts, and pressed him. OAving to the coining of AA’inter and the general depression, he Avas unable to make sufficient out of the business to satisfy all his creditors, tAvo of Avhom obtained judgments against him, forcing him to file a petition in bankruptcy.
