FORGERY CHARGE
GUILT ADMITTED. WE LLING TON, Wednesday. Frederick William Schlutcr, described as an engineer, aged 42, the man who escaped from Mount Eden Prison early this year, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court to-day to forging and uttering a cheque for £OO and two charges of thc-ft. The offences were conYmitted while the accused was at liberty. • The accused' after evidence had been heard was committed to the Supremo Court for sentence. On a charge of being an incorrigible rogue in that lie escaped from Mount Eden Prison he was remanded to appear at Auckland, and for two offences against the Arms Act in connection with unregistered rifles, committed in H)2f), he was convicted and discharged. -(P.A.)
