DOUBLE DROWNING

FATHER AND SON. IrYIIAKATANE, Tills Day. A double drowning accident occurred late yesterday afternoon in the Whakatano River at Poroporo, whereby Willis (Dummy) Savage, aged 35, lost his life in attempting to rescue his son, aged 7. who got into difficulties while bathing with other native children. The father dived, fully clothed, and, it is surmised, got caught in a snag. The bodies have not yet been recovered.
