MONTHLY MEETING. A meeting of the committee of the Masterton A. and P. Association was held yesterday afternoon. Mr J. M. James presided. Communications giving the results and the judge’s comment 011 the Noith Island district competition of . export lambs, and already published in the “Daily Times,” were received from tho Meat Board. It was decided to send letters of congratulation to Mr P. R. Welch, Masterton, and Mr R. RTilson, Greytown, the first and second prize-winners, respectively. The chaiiman, Mr James, said it was pleasing to know that tho Wairarapa had won such success. Mr W. Perry mentioned that it was likely that the number of entries would bo cut down in future competitions, as they found difficulty in London in displaying such a large number of entries as had been received in the last competition, which, he said, totalled SOIX The Royal Agricultural Society advised that the closing date for the receipt -of remits for the annual conference, to he held on 22nd June, was 21st May. Messrs W. Perry, J. M. James and D. McGregor were appointed a committee to consider the remits for the conference. It was decided to apply for a North Island championship medal for light horses, to he competed for at next year’s show. Mr G. 11. Perry raised the question of orders given as prizes at the Association’s shows to competitors, particularly in the light horse class. Many of the orders, lie said, were worth little or nothing, and he suggested that the Association might negotiate them and give cash prizes to competitors.
