THREAT ON LIFE
LETTER RECEIVED BY M.P. An anonymous letter threatening his life and making libellous statements against other members of the Coalition, Avas reeeiA’ed this Aveek by Mr C. H. Clinkard, AI.P. for Rotorua. The letter, Avhieli bore a Rotorua postmark, threatened that unless Mr Clinkard changed his attitude in Parliament the Avriter Avould "bIOAV you up and your shanty. ” The writing, Avhieh has been carefully disguised, is a mixture of printing and Avriting, and those who have seen the letter . express the vieAV that the author is something of a xi oilman, because the characters are uniformly made. On receiving the letter Air Clinkard handed it to the senior Government Whip, Air A. J. Alurdocli, to deal with. The latter placed it in the hands of the Commissioner of Police, Air W. G. Wohlmann, and inquiries are being prosecuted.
