ST. MATTHEWS’ COLLEGE
PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION. ENJOYABLE CHILDREN’S PARTY. A most hilarious time was spent by the large number of young children present at the “children’s party” held by the Parents’ Association of St. Matthew’s Collegiate School for Girls in the Assembly Hall yesterday afternoon and evening. Mrs J. A. Betts, who organised the party, and upon whom the bulk of the work of entertaining the children fell, is to be heartily congratulated on the success of the function. Mrs Betts, who thoroughly understands what is necessary to make a children’s party go with a swing, spared no effort to see that the young folk enjoyed every miiiute of the party. Mrs Betts was ably assisted by Misses Joan Beetham, Nan Bcetham, Jocelyn Betts, June Strouts, Nancy Payton, Betty Payton, B. Major, Nancy Garrick, Joy do Lisle, and Mollie Iveson. The members of the Parents’ Association, who were present, and assisted, were: — Mesdames W. F. McLaren (president), A. Bcetham, IT. Beetham, J. Payton, J. A. Betts. R. R. Burling, H. M. Peacock, E. W. de Lisle and B. Iveson. The music for the children’s games, etc., was supplied by Mr B. Iveson. Various competitions were held, and each child received a gift of a balloon.
