LONDON SALES. LONDON, Wednesday. Total catalogues offered to-day at the London wool sales were 97-16 bales, including 3399 New Zealand. Approximately 5672 bales were sold. Yorkshire and Continental competition was active, and there was a loadj clearance at firm rates.

Greasy Merino made up to 20d. FRENCH WOOL TARIFF. PARIS, Thursday. The Central Woollen Committee is demanding the withdrawal of the Bill introduced in the Chamber of Deputies proposing to increase the import dutieon wool, and to subsidise tlie home* grown staple. The committee shows that 90 per cent of the raw wool used in France is imported.
