MURDER CHARGE
SUSPECT ARRESTED,
SYDNEY, Thursday
Months of painstaking investigation, during which detectives disguised as tramps travelled New South Males, have been rewarded by the arrest of a young man who is now charged with the murder of Alexander Barrie at Taddington in December last.
(Alexander Barrie, aged 75, was bound and gagged by thieves at Ins home in Paddington, and was so badly battered about the head that he died. His wife rushed to his aid and received injuries which were thought likely to prove fatal. Robbery was believed to be the motive, as Barrie was reported to be well-to-do, and kept a large sum in his house.) The man arrested is W illiam Moito.i, aged 26. He was charged with murder and remanded.
