Lord Beaverbrook, speaking at the London Hippodrome, said: —“Tho Government is going to give a 10 per cent tariff, but wo do not want a revenue tariff. We want a tariff which will give protection and provide more production in Britain and throughout the Empire. There should be no duty on wheat, meat and tea, which are all Empire products. “I am tired,” he continued, “of hearing that Mr Ramsay MacDonald is Let us get rid of such offifecles and get on with the business of developing the Empire.”
