A. AND P. SOCIETIES.
Agricultural and Pastoral Societies throughout New Zealand have proved of immense benefit to the man on the land. They keep alive the competitive spirit in respect to the breeding of stock. _ The competitions are a direct incentive to the application of the best scientific principles, so ensuring a high general standard of stock.° Any slackening of the standard would be detrimental to our primary products on the overseas market. This is a time loi renewed efforts, and through the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies these efforts can be directed to the best possible benefit. _ dhe Masterton A. and P. Association is deserving of the utmost sunport, not only from farmers, but also from the citizens of the town. This Association’s show is again near at hand, and it. is hoped that, despite the economic difficulties m which the country is involved, the appeal for the fullest measure of support for the Masterton A. and P. Association will not be made in vain.
