HONOLULU LYNCHING
DECISION AWAITED. HONOLULU, Saturday. The Fortescue case awaits the Grand Jury’s meeting on Tuesday, after its failure to reach a decision after examining thirty-two witnesses and deliberating for three hours, whether to bring the defendants to trial. These proceedings are secret under American law and nothing will be announced before Tuesday. (Mrs Granville Fortescue, Lieutenant Thomas Massie, of the United States Navy, and others are accused of the murder of a Japanese youth, wlio was kidnapped and killed while awaiting trial on a charge of assaulting the wife of Lieutenant Massie.)
