LINDRUM’S BIG BREAK. LONDON, Tuesday. Walter Lindrum is approaching Lis five thousand break Avhich he promised to make during the present season. He had already made 3,151, unfinished. Lindrum began the evening session Avith an unfinished break of 701, compiled chiefly in open play. He then added in sequences 58 and 94 by nursery cannons, reaching his thousand. His only difficulty Avas at 1189, a loser leaving the red in a bad position. His next stroke sent the Avfiite into baulk Avlience he recovered Avith a very accurate cannon, enabling him to score an easy Avhite loser to regain position. He thereafter scored nursery cannons, including runs of 135, 132, 88, 101, and 97.' He has thus far played for 21 ; hours, his nurseries aggregating 907, Avith a previous break of SOS. His score is 6176. Davis, avlio received 7,000, is 5,644.
Lindrum established a Avorld record professional, billiards break of 3905 during a match last year with the New Zealander, Clark McConacliy. The amateur record, held by Lawrence Steeples, of Sheffield, and made last year in a match in Sydney Avith the Aucklander, W. E. Haekett, is 461 unfinished. A WORLD’S RECORD. HUGE BREAK UNFINISHED.
