RECORDS SMASHED. (Recived Tuesday, 9.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Clare Dennis, aged 15. smashed the world’s record for 200 metres breaststroke, at the Domain Baths, by 1 4-5 seconds. The previous best was 8.10 2-5 by Marjorie Hinton, of England. Violet Armstrong broke Dulcie Baine’s State and Australian record for 50 yards free style, clocking 28 2-5 seconds. MASTERTON CLUB’S CARNIVAL. Record entries have been received for the Masterton Swimming Club’s grand Night Carnival, to be held in the Dixon Street aths on Anniversary night, January 22nd, commencing at 7.30 p.m. As accommodation is limited, the public are advised to purchase tickets. These can be had at J. L. Murray’s, Ltd., or from any member of the committee. Prices of admission are; Adults Is., children 6d.
