LESS IN BRITAIN LONDON, Saturday. The Ministry of Labour announces that the improvement in the unemployment position, noticeable since September, continued until Christmas. During the first three Aveeks of December the number of unemployed fell by 112,000 to 2,510,000, of Avhich 77,000 constitutes the real improvement, tho remainder being due to the tightening up of the dole. The report points out that the improvement is seasonal, but is greater than for some years, especially in coalmining, cotton and engineering.
The report adds that since September unemployment fell by 315,000, of Avhich 225,000 secured employment.
