Have the oven very hot before you begin ... for scones should be mixed quickly. Oven tray should be in place in oven . . . flour in sifter with salt, Edmonds Eaking Powder and sugar. Warm milk and water should be ready in jug for mixing .. . knife or cutter handy . . . hands very clean. 2. 2 large cups flour, \ teaspoonful salt, 2 heaped teaspoonfuls of Edmonds Baking Powder and I small dessertspoonful sugar sifted together. Rub in a good slice of butter till free from lumps ... iffi r m i Make hollow in centre of flour, pour in spme of the warm milk and water, stir lightly, quickly, deftly throwing in the flour to the centre ~. adding liquid as needed. Mix to soft dough. Turn out on to floured board. Pat into round ball with light touches ... press out with hand or roller to \ to f inch thick .. . cut with floured knife or cutter ... on to hot oven tray. Dab tops with warm milk if wanted glazed. Into oven quickly . . .
