The exclusive Lake Narconian Club in (California was used as a site for the filming of “Top Speed.” Mervyn Le Roy was a hoofer before becoming a motion picture director. Rita Flynn was an entertainer in Paris 'and New York night clubs. Frank McHugh, Rita Flynn and Jack Whiting have red hair. Extras numbering 730 were employed as atmosphere for the speedboat races in “Top Speed.” Jack Whiting piloted his speedboat at SO miles an hour in the speedboat races in “Top Speed.”
