REFEREE’S PACE SLAPPED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday. Just before the close of a soccer game at Christchurch on Saturday between St. Albans and Kaiapoi, following an argument about a penalty awarded to St. Albans, a Kaiapoi player smacked the referee on the fa’ce. The offending player did not leave the field. PLAYER BREAKS LEG. While playing in the Carterton-Dale-field junior Rugby match on Saturday, S. Gallon, a Dalefield player, had his leg broken. He was admitted to the MastertOn hospital.
