YOUTHS RESCUED

AFTER TRYING EXPERIENCE. ' (By Telegraph —Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, This Day. On Sunday afternoon two climbers named Denis Hastings Budd (20), of New Plymouth, and* John Fitzgibbons (22), of Waitara, whose parents reside in Wellington, and both clerks in. the Bank of New Zealand, were caught 200 feet up the seaward side of Paritua, the 500' feet rock base at the breakwater. They were unable to advance or retire. Their signals were seen at 4.25 .o’clock, and attempts to rescue theigbvere made by Alpine Club members Paid officers and seamen of the Kini and Opihi, who alseended the rock on the landward side and endeavoured to reach the youths with a rope. All . kight efforts were unsuccessful, but a rescue was accomplished at S o clock this morning. The youths are little the worse for their experience.
