SAMOA’S FAREWELL
GIFTS FOR COLONEL ALLEN. (Special to P.A. by Radio.) APIA, Sunday. On Thursday the retiring Administrator, Colonel Allen, was farewelled at a native function at Mulinu, when addresses weto given by the chiefs of the House of Paipule, and a presentation made of fine Samoan mats and other tokens of regard. On Wednesday the officials of the Government and the reparation estates presented the Administrator with a piece of silver plate. At 8 o’clock on Saturday evening the Administrator left by the steamer Tofua for Suva and Auckland. He was accorded a salute of fifteen guns by the shore battery.
Pending, the arrival of the new Administrator, General Hart, the Secre tary of the Administration, Mr Turn bull, is to act as Administrator.
