What will probably be the last Anglo-French international match for some time, unless France speedily settles her internal squabble with Britain, resulted in France, despite tiro handicap of the absence of several of her foremost players, triumphing magnificently. The crowd was the smallest for many years, though it numbered 30,000. England was superior at the start and secured an early lead. France played inspircdly in the second half. The lead changed fivo times. England was leading ibv 13 points to 10 ten minutes from the end, after which Bailette picked the ball up from the loose and brilliantly potted a goal from forty yards.
The kick elevated France to second place in the international championship, which Wales won, England being tlie wooden spoonists.
